2:Inspiration Board

Inspiration board #2! Since its already quite warm here in Hong Kong, I'm starting to move towards an
actual spring/summer colour palette. Yes, you heard me, I'm switching my usual B&W wardrobe to a more
coloured based one! Surprising right? :)

So, this detailed close up COS campaign peach tone, the Dior Cruise 2015 beauty look, a pretty cool water
painting and this portrait shot is what I'm thinking of right now!

Perfect Black Items

So heres the long awaited post! I'm truly sorry about going on so many hiatuses but hey, taking the SATs
is a valid excuse right? So anyway, back on topic. Here, I decided to select a few of the 'perfect' black items
which can be found from the current SS season! So you may ask, why black? First of all, black is just everywhere
in my wardrobe and also secondly, its such a versatile 'colour'! So why the apostrophes? Because as Ricardo
Tisci once said, "Black is always elegant. It is the most complete colour in the whole word, made of all the
colours in the palette". Well, I see it more as the opposite of light. But still valid! Here's
the list below!

1. The Black Backpack - This version by Common Projects is killing it! The boxy yet relaxed shape with a
spacious front pocket!

2. The Black Duffle - What else. Its the perfect Saint Laurent you can find from their mens section!

3. The Black Wallet - Rather than a plain grained/smooth black leather, spice it up with a grid embossed
print by Pierre Hardy!

4. The Black Chelsea Boot - Chelsea boots are my recent obsession and the current season, these Margielas
are my fave! But I've got my eye on the FW14 Givenchy ones too!

5. The Black Jean - Saint Laurent black jeans. What every guy who wants to add a bit of 'biker' and 'rock' to
their outfit!

6. The Black Blazer - The perfect one from Jil Sander with cool orange grid details. And its reversible
too! What a great 'value for money' investment!

7. The Black Bomber - The perfect spring lightweight bomber by Sandro!

8. The Black Watch - A limited edition watch by Larsson and Jennings! Hopefully I'll get my hands on their
silver chain one soon!

9. The Black Espadrilles - DO NOT LOOK FOR THESE until I say so and buy it. I don't want you guys to steal
all the available stock. My mouth is shut about my absolute top list item now.

10. The Black Sandal - Super cool and modern take on a greek sandal! So whats your thought on this sandal
trend? - Pierre Hardy

11. The Black Biker - Saint Laurent's permanent collection. So don't bother waiting for sale, it wont be just
because its literally worth that $3000 USD. This is actually the epitome of biker jackets and what every
design out there should aspire to be!

I skipped 12 because i'm not that fond about that number. haha jokes. casual mistakes :)

13. The Black Shades - I think my favourite shades now are all from Thom Browne. They do it best with
the right amount of gold detailing and red white blue motif!

14. The Black Shirt - A fun, more colourful take of the classic short sleeved black dress shirt by Raf Simons!
I love the addition of the warm tone prints on the collar!

15. The Black Coat - Okay this looks navy but i've seen it in black in stores! The classic Saint Laurent
duffle coat. Once again, this is on its permanent collection and NEVER goes on sale :'(.

16. The Black Trousers - I am in loved with tailored cropped trousers and this pair by Lanvin is just the right
choice for me! And possibly you too!

17. The Black Sneakers - The classic pair of soft leather sneaks by Common Projects is great. And I approve
it is super super super comfy!

18. The Black Shorts - Tailored ribbed jersey shorts by Neil Barrett helps add a luxe sport element to your look
but at the same time, makes it look sophisticated and 'expensive'!

19. The Black Sweatshirt - Tim Coppens has become one of my recent fave menswear designers and
cool sleeve colour block panel sweatshirt is just the right thing to be subtle and daring at the same time!
The perforated leather panels just do it for me! :)

So thats it! I hope you guys enjoy reading this as much as I have enjoyed making this collage. Note, all
these items I've selected have not been sponsored at all and reflect what I personally would want to buy
this season in Black!

Let me know if you want to see my take on a womenswear selection later. Comment down below or on my
instagram (@justincyong)!

The Slip On Edit

After another long hiatus, and getting super sick consecutively over a week, I figured I should start posting
again to make up for the absences! I really wish I could promise you that I would post more regularly now,
however, I will be taking my SATs and end of year exams next month, so I can't guarantee you'll see more
posts :(

Anyway, lets talk about slip ons! I've been loving this trend so much, even though I may not be the type
to pull it off. I can tell you the women's section has way more choices and way more styles that I like - i.e.
the Céline black pony hair ones, but agh! I wish they had my size. But the slip on trend is also becoming
very popular amongst the menswear world! So I picked a few bright and statement slip ons above, as well
as some dark, simple styles to edge up a look!

1. These croc embossed Jimmy Choos are to die for! They absolutely suit my craving for black and textured
croc! Hopefully I can get that amazing croc printed KVA shirt along with it!
2. These oily teal blue leather slip-ons from Common Projects are great! Its a great 'unexpected' shade
of blue to pull off! And I just love how soft the leathers are Common Projects works with.
3. Bright coral red slip ons from Lanvin is the way to go if you want to stand out in the crowd!
4. I just love the contrast between the sleek polished black leather against the rough unrefined canvas material
of this Mcqueen slip on.
5. Never be to shy to pull of a print with Mugler
6. For a more winter appropriate selection, opt for these Jil Sander brown suede slip-ons.
7. Similar to the Lanvin coral slip-ons, try pink leather with MMM!

The Backpack

I thought I'd start doing posts like this, so you guys can decide to save, spend or splurge! So obviously,
save would be the low budget purchases, spend would be mid range purchases and splurge would be out of
the budget investment pieces for yourself! I will be doing these series for the most basic staple items and giving
you ideas to edge up a rather common style.

So here is my first 'Save Spend Splurge' of the backpack. Here, I go through the options for a classic navy,
and the animal - incorporating the rather 'trending' leopard and croc! Hope you like this and be sure to stay
tuned for more posts!

Here are the links to these gorgeous backpacks!

Céline SS14

Before I go on posting on the Fall Winter 2014 Menswear shows, lets take a minute to enjoy these Céline
SS14 beauties. At first, when I saw the accessories on the first showcase, I have to admit, I didn't really
like it. I know I shouldn't ever doubt Ms Philo, but once I saw the campaign and these photos, I just died
a little. I was a bit worried about all the colours, but of Phoebe Philo and her team did an incredible job
with these! First of all, those bright coloured bags, the trapeze and the iconic box bag...just wow. Then
the new triangle bag design. Although it might hurt your arm because of the metal detailing, but its such
a clever design! Anyway, I'm dying to visit the Céline stores now, so come join me?

Happy New Year

2   0   1   4

Happy New Year guys! I hope you had a great time in 2013 and made all your resolutions you set for yourself!
2013 flew by so quickly! 2013 was a challenging year. Not only the exams made it tough, but also trying
to stay focused and being a better person too.

Now on to 2014! I have been neglecting my blog way too much ( I am obsessed with 1 month hiatuses.
jokes ) , therefore this coming year I hope to post more often and know more about you guys. Maybe even
giveaways! I have a few things coming up that I'm really excited for, so be sure to stay tuned for it all.
I really hope you all make some wonderful 2014 resolutions and enjoy this coming year like its your last!

I'm doing this off my head, but my resolutions for this year would be:
1. At the end of the day, think of all the good things that has happened and forget all the negatives!

2. Find my own personal style, maybe tackle the monochrome looks?

3. Build up the confidence to finally make outfit posts ( I doubt it though ;) )

4. Be more organised and more hardworking! Trying my best at absolutely everything.

5. Cut down on the caffeine. (This past year I drank way too much coffee and tea, its time to drink more
H20!)

6. Cut on spending and get investment pieces instead.

7. Be more true to myself and more genuine in everything I do!

8. Talk more and make more friends!

9. Build on family relations! I love my fam so much!

10. I can't really think of anymore now...I'll get back to you guys soon!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Green Tea Soy

So as I promised, here's how I make my green tea soy milk!

What you need is:
Soy bean milk
Two green tea bags or 2-3 teaspoons of green tea powder
1/2 teaspoon cocoa powder
1 chai tea bag

First, measure out the amount of soy bean milk you need to fill your cup, then pour into a saucepan and start
simmering under low heat. Then place your green tea powder/bag and also the chai tea into the milk, and stir.
From time to time, use a spatula and press on the tea bags to ensure the tea is being infused into the milk. Finally,
add half a tablespoon of cocoa powder and stir until dissolved. Then serve immediately!

MFW SS14

Dolce & Gabbana: Sicily was definitely Dolce and Gabbana's constant inspiration. It never grows old because
Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are constantly giving us stunning collections season after season.
In my point of view, I believe their vision is becoming more mature. There are many looks within this collection

LFW SS14

J.W. Anderson: This season, J.W. Anderson has obviously taken a lighter mood with minimalism. The use of
a lighter white palette is different from his darker 'all black' collections seen before. This season, its crisp and

Proenza Schouler: This has to be my favourite of NYFW if not all of SS14 so far! I'm mesmerised by the amazing

Skincare Regime

Its quite depressing to mention this, but I have to admit my skin is shit. Maybe I just get some bad genes from my
Dad HAHA. I tend to have oily skin and occasionally get acne bursts. So after endless years (maybe months)
of finding the right products that suit my skin best, here they are!

So first of all, the 1 Glam Glow Supermud Mask. I've just recently discovered this and its great! After usage,
bumps just magically disappear! Plus, it gets rid of your blackheads too. Now, even my sister uses it! I usually
use this once every week (10-15 minutes then rinse off).

Next, I use the Citrus Facial Wash from Perricone MD. This cleanser suits me super well because it helps
get rid of your oil super well and also targets acne prone skin. Plus, its the best smelling cleanser i've came
across so far!

Then, depending on the weather, I might use the Oil Control Solution from Lab Series Men to keep my skin
matte during the day.

After that, I use the super Le Jour de Chanel to keep my skin looking energised after little sleep - from too much
homework :(. This brightensup your complexion!

Then off to getting rid of those eye bags/black eye circles, with Kyoku for Men Eye Fuel! This product
has two compartments, one gel, and the other lotion, use these both together to achieve a 'less sleepy' look.

Finally, moisturising. As you know, with oily skin, its best to find a moisturiser that isn't too rich. So thats
why I chose the Oil Control Lotion from Kyoku for Men. Its great and it uses traditional Japanese medicinal
ingredients!

So hopefully you enjoyed reading this and just remember to drink more water to keep yourself hydrated!

Pierre Balmain SS14

P   I   E   R   R   E       B   A   L   M   A   I   N

Photos above taken from style.com and used to make my layout

Fashion week is back! I'm ever so excited for this season a
nd see what designers I already love come up with!
On top of that, I'm hoping to see more new, innovative designers as well. I'm sure there's great potential for all of
them.

So to kick it off, Pierre Balmain. Once I saw this on style.com, I just absolutely fell in love with this prominent
grunge-punk aesthetic! Firstly, lets talk about the looks. The overall monochromatic collection consists of basics
that has a sort of edge/punk feel to it. Who knew basic garments made in a rough and ragged way looked so
good? The mens tank top with stretched armholes looks great! Especially the zip detailing on the side hems! I
can't wait till next season and sneak in a purchase! Being my skinny self, I'd personally wear a top like that over
another basic/a printed shirt to give it more texture. The ripped up sweatshirt looks great too! Personally,
I'm not a fan of purposely 'made to tear' pieces, but this gives the collection a 'rebel' side. For menswear,
most of the looks were paired with a classic Balmain jean, black leather boots and of course, a studded belt. On the
other hand, womenswear had a bit more polish to it, with a stunning cropped white turtleneck top.

Moving on to beauty, I just love the wet haired look for the girls! It just helps to reinforce the 'punk' theme that
much more!

Can't wait till its in stores!

Helsinki

Off to Stockholm via Silja Line!

Helsinki, the capital of Finland. I was so happy to explore this gorgeous city! Helsinki claimed the No. 1 spot
for Monocle's 'Most Liveable City Award' in 2011 and I truly see why it did! The summer weather here is just
perfect, people are so friendly, the architecture is a combination of modernist design and traditional qualities!
Its the world design capital too!

Walking through Helsinki's fish market, its great to see that a lot of people here are promoting Finland's locally
grown produce! Who would've thought that strawberries here taste better than anything else i've tried! Wishing
to come back here soon!
